Hundreds of students have been sensitized on Menstrual Hygiene by Destiny Hearts Foundation, DHF.

This was through a campaign that follows the commemoration of World Menstrual Hygiene Day on May 28, 2021.

To carry out this campaign, Destiny Hearts Foundation reached out to some students of Faith Comprehensive High School, Obili, Yaounde.

These students were taught on how to manage their cycle, how to wear a pad and how to stay confident while on your period.

The students comprised of boys and girls were selected from the junior classes.

“We thought it wise to engage boys in the discussion to help counter the stigma associated with menstruation”. The Centre Regional Coordinator for DHF, Catherine Aduo told News Upfront.

“I want to thank Destiny Hearts Foundation for this important lesson they have given to us. Now I understand better what menstruation is all about” One of the students, Clarise, said after the outreach.

At the end of the sensitisation exercise, sanitary pads were shared to the female students who expressed their gratitude to the organisation.
