All the personnel of the health center have been quarentined according to a decision signed by the West Regional Delegate for Public Health.

The health center (CMA Lafé Baleng) in the Mifi health district shall remain closed for a provisionary period of 14 days.

The decision to shut down the center was taken after one of the health personnel was tested positive for Covid-19 to become the fourth case in the West Region.

The personnel in question is said to have consulted the third patient who was tested positive in the same hospital where he was admitted from the 18th to 23rd of March.

With the discovery, the West Regional delegate for Public Health in a bid to prevent the spread of the virus, has taken some measures among which is the temporal closure of the center, time for it to be completely disinfected.

In the mean time, all the personnel of the health center, quarentined shall be tested.

Patients who were hospitalized or who consulted at the hospital from March 18–23 and left have been asked to call the West Regional control center for Covid-19.

The discovery in Bafoussam comes as the situation is gradually getting out of hand, with 139 Covid-19 positive cases in Cameroon so far, with Limbe in the South West region joining Douala, Bafoussam and Yaounde to register Corona virus patients.

Statistics equally show that six (6) people have died of COVID-19 in Cameroon so far and four patients cured.

An evaluation meeting of the measures taken by the government of the Republic of Cameroon took place Sunday March 29 at the Ministry of Territorial Administration bringing together some ministers, regional governors, administrative and security officials and was chaired by Minister Paul Atanga Nji.

The MINAT boss at the end of the evaluation asked Cameroonians to help the government protect them by respecting the 13 points measures instructed by the Head of State.

Measures are not sufficient by testing passengers on arrival. I think all passengers travelling long distances from one city to another or country to another be tested before going on board so that those that test positive or refuses to test are stopped to travel and quarantined before they get to their destination where they disappear and spread to others.
