PAP party gives self a pass mark for the past one year

The president of the Popular Action Party, PAP, Njang Denis Tabe has commended the strides made by the party for the past one year. The party’s leader was speaking during its National Council meeting last Saturday July 11, 2020 at the Stand Up For Cameroon headquarter in Essos, Yaounde.

This enlarged General Assembly was mainly to evaluate the one year leadership of Njang Denis since taking over from the party founder and former Member of Parliament, Hon Ayah Paul Abine on July 11, 2019.
“According to contribution by active members of the National Council, the Popular Action Party had within just one year, gained both national and international repute, in the aspect of mitigating violence, pressurizing government through the media declarations and manifestation to solve the Anglophone crisis and multiple crises affecting Cameroon.” the National Council revealed.

PAP’s Secretary General, Fabrice Lena told the Guardian Post that the party has also grown in membership as the party’s ideology has won the hearts of many.
The event also served as an opportunity for Njang Denis to reiterates the party’s stance on the present socio-political situation in the country.

“The Popular Action Party shall not take part in any Elections organized by the CPDM-BIYA Regime with the current electoral code and electoral body” he declared.
While calling for a ceasefire in the two English Speaking regions, Njang Denis said a revision of “the 1961 Constitution in a roundtable discussion” could solve the crisis. “The Popular Action Party Supports and stands for internal and external pressure on the current regime till complete Political Transition.” He concluded. The Party has remained very vocal on critical issues affecting national lives

Meanwhile, the National Council also adjusted and restructured the party with some militants taking up new positions through the ballot box. Njang Denis was re-elected as National President for the next 4 years along with his two vice presidents, Yoweri Precidis and Roger Takar Takie. Fabrice Lena, formerly National Communication Secretary was elected as Secretary General. Njine Baneh Elvis who previously assisted in the communication secretariat, took up full function and will be assisted by Chuo Walters, who was serving as the party’s coordinator in Soa- Yaounde. Mburli Roger now occupies national organizing secretary with Ndage George as his deputy. On her part, Aben Nerrisia Aben was made national treasurer and Sama Hassan, Technical Adviser. The position of deputy secretary general was given to another female member, Ngwiche Colleth.

The installation ceremony of the bureau was graced with the presence of political allies like Bar Michelle Ndoki and Sambit Kohtem Princewill of MRC and MP3 parties respectively. While addressing the party members, Barrister Ndoki regretted the hate speech which is eating deep into the Cameroonian society and veiling the eyes of many from flushing out “the sit-tight regime in Yaounde.”
