The continues proliferation of the Covid-19 virus in Cameroon, has pushed its head of state, President Paul Biya to create a special fund intended to arm its efforts in the fight against the pandemic.

The information was made public this Tuesday March 31, 2020 via a communique signed by the Secretary General at the Star Building, Fouda Seraphin Magloire.

It states that the Prime Minister, Joseph Dion Ngute created the special fund on the high instructions of the President of the Republic, Paul Biya.

As a response plan to the spread, the Head of State and chief of the Arm forces in Cameroon also ordered 1 Billion frs CFA to finance all operations in combating the dreaded virus, Corona.

As at press time, the number of Corona infected persons had rose from 193 to 233.

Early reactions from some citizens have been positive though many are questioning to what extend will the 1 billion frs go in the fight against Corona Virus following the high cost already incurred in treating and caring for quarantine individuals mostly from abroad.

Cameroon’s Presidential couples have been recognised and praised by many of their supporters for always coming swiftly with relieve assistance to relief their citizens in times of distress.

In late October 2019, the President ordered the sum of 200 millions frs to assist victims of the Ngouache Landslide in Bafoussam, West Region.
