The 13 points measures instructed by the President of the Republic Paul Biya to fight COVID-19 ends later today.

Cameroonians are anxiously waiting for the next step that the government would take .

The government had earlier indicated that the period (15 days) given to respect the measures was renewable depending on the evolution of the pandemic.

By the time the measures were adopted, Cameroon had registered just about a dozen cases of COVID-19 patients.

Fifteen days after, the pandermic has actually spread wide with a total of 233 positive cases in four regions of the country.

A mid term evaluation of implementation of the measures indicated that Cameroonians are still retisent in respecting the measures.

The Prime Minister last week indicated that the Head of State, Paul Biya had ordered administrative and judicial officials to reinforce the strict respect of the measures and bring defaulters to book.

Possibilities of judicial cases were not sidelined.

As the measures end today, the government of Cameroon shall re evaluate the 13 points and adopt the way forward.

Judging from the increase in the number of COVID-19 patients in Cameroon, and the partial respect of the Corona Response Plan, the present measures could be hardened by the government.

Public opinion is divided over a possible decision to confine some affected regions of the country.

Another daily press conference comes up today, and the Prime Minister is looked up to for the way forward.
