Preparations for the upcoming Kedjom Keku Cultural Weekends in Yaounde received a significant boost today Tuesday July 28, 2026 following a courtesy visit by the organizing committee to Honourable Agho Oliver, Member of Parliament for Bafut-Tubah.

The delegation, led by Mr. Stephen Mbi, Coordinator of Kedjom Keku Activities in Yaoundé, met with the Honourable MP at Hotel des Depute to officially brief him on the event and seek his esteemed support.

Showcasing Culture, Unity, and Education

During the briefing, Mr. Mbi outlined the lineup of activities scheduled for the cultural weekend, which aims to foster community cohesion and heritage preservation. Key highlights include:
- A Football Tournament to promote sportsmanship and youth engagement.
– Cultural and Traditional Dance Competitions to celebrate rich heritage.
- A Language Competition to preserve and encourage native dialects among the younger generation.
- A Back-to-School Support Program, which stands as a central pillar of the event, aimed at assisting students ahead of the academic year.

Endorsement and Advice from the MP

Hon. Agho Oliver lauded the organizing committee for the initiative, describing it as a commendable project. He emphasized his unwavering commitment to any cause centered around development, peace, and unity.
Pledging his personal support to ensure the resounding success of the event, the MP also issued a passionate call to action:

”I encourage other elites and friends of Kedjom Keku to rally behind this noble initiative. Furthermore, I advise the committee to explore ways to directly involve pupils and students back home in the back-to-school drive to maximize its impact.”

Hon. Agho Oliver promised to stay in touch, monitor the progress of the event and will definitely drop his support before the peak event scheduled for Sunday August 23, 2026 at the Olembe Annexe B Stadium.

A Call to Civic Duty

Beyond the cultural festivities, the meeting also touched on national matters. Hon. Agho Oliver used the platform to invite the entire Kedjom Keku community to massively register on the electoral registers, reminding them of the importance of being ready to exercise their civic duty when the time comes.

The delegation expressed profound gratitude to the MP for his warm reception, valuable advice, and generous commitment toward making the cultural weekend a memorable success.

It is not the first time Hon. Agho Oliver is supporting Kedjom Keku. The MP has always stood by the village when ever they knock at his doors.
