The pioneer NW Regional Commissioner for Economic Development, Ghejung Awunti is set to deliver for the interest of the entire region.
Elected into the Regional Executive Bureau for the North West region on Tuesday December 22, 2020, Ghejung Awunti believes that the time to get to work is immediately.
Speaking to News Upfront during campaigns ahead of the first ever Regional Council Elections in Cameroon, Ghejung Awunti disclosed that his vision is to move along with all the sons and daughters of the region, irrespective of their Division.
“We are out to deliver, not only the best, but to everyone” he said.
The native of Babanki, stunch CPDM militant, has a challenging responsibility in the bureau given that the crisis in the region has seriously affected Economic Development of the region.
But he believes that the team headed by the former Secretary General at the Ministry of Public Health, now Board Chair of the Gynaco Obstetric and Paediatric Hospital in Yaounde, Fru Angwafor III, will be up to the task, owing to their rich experience from diverse spheres.
Worth noting is the fact that all the seven (7) Divisions of the North West region are represented in the bureau.
The Vice President of the bureau is Fon YAKUM Kevin Teuvih of Bambalang, and according to the decentralization code adopted last year (2019), he will head the House of Chiefs given to the region.
He represents the Ngoketunjia Division in the bureau.
The two ladies on the pioneer list are, Dr. Mrs. Sakah Fondufe Lydia, Commissioner for Health and Social Development, (Bui Division) and Dr. Mrs. Anjoh Fru-Manyi Rose, Commissioner for Educational, Sports, and Cultural Development (Momo Division).
The two secretaries of the bureau are Mr. Kalak Flavius Boteh, (Donga Mantung Division) and Fon Bagmbi III Mathias, of Aghem (Menchum Division).
The lone Questor is from Boyo Division in the person of Jude Waindim.
The Regional Council session as of right that elected the Regional Executive Bureau took place in the presence of NW Governor, Adolphe Lele L’Afrique.
