Renewable Energy Innovators, REI, Cameroon, a leading solar installation company, has reaffirmed its commitment to providing clean and reliable electricity for all in the country.

The solar energy company, known for delivering premium solar solutions backed with extensive warranties and an exceptional customer support service to homes and institutions with critical energy needs coupled with high energy costs, reaffirmed its commitment on Tuesday March 25th, 2025.

This was during a modest ceremony to commission a gigantic solar energy system at the Summer Institute of Linguistics, SIL.

The event took place on the campus of the faith-based non-profit organization in the Tropicana neighbourhood of Yaoundé, Centre Region.

The event marked the end of SIL’s training program and celebration of significant milestones, with the solar energy system being a remarkable achievement.

According to REI Cameroon, this achievement represents a major step toward sustained energy resiliency, benefiting the institution and its community.

The solar energy system commissioned for SIL consists of a 62.1kWp photovoltaic (PV) system and an 84.8kWh battery storage capacity.

This advanced system, REI Cameroon stated, is designed to power all SIL’s operations, including the carpentry workshop with heavy machinery, the garage, residences equipped with water heaters, air conditioners, and freezers as well as servers, computers, and bulbs.

Speaking during the ceremony, the Chief Executive Officer, CEO, of REI Cameroon, Jude Numfor, lauded the success of the project.

The acclaimed engineer, with a wealth of experience in on-grid and off-grid electrification, also explained that the solar energy system will not only bring clean energy to the institution but also offer reliability and a significant reduction in energy bills.

“It was a great pleasure working on this project. Our team worked tirelessly to ensure its success, from demand assessment and design to installation and commissioning,” Numfor said.

The CEO went further to mention: “At REI Cameroon, we believe in building partnerships with our clients which has to do with trust and long-term relations. REI depends really on these two things that we prioritize in every project we undertake”.
