“Credibility and quality remain the essential qualities of Frantz Fanon Bilingual College”, says Dr. Alexandre Thomas Essomba.

The founder and promoter of the reference institution in Yaounde was reacting days after a video leaked where a mathematics teacher of the school was involve in a sex affaire with a student.

“It is an isolated act, which could happen to every institution that employs staff from all over the country with different characters”, Dr Essomba told News Upfront, adding that;

“We have taken necessary measures to address the situation and the teacher is responding to his actions at the right quarters”.

According to a note from the principal of the school, the mathematics teacher in question, Mvondo Ndjock Eric Alain Stéphane Da Silva, has been dismissed from the institution so that he can freely answer to the charges against him.

“We cannot tolerate such a character at Frantz Fanon, because it’s totally against the ethics of the profession”, says the principal of Frantz Fanon Bilingual College in his release.

“We care more about the education of our students and the integrity of our staff, and will always work towards maintaining or raising standards”, Dr. Alexandre Thomas Essomba recounted to News Upfront.

On the sextape video that went viral on social media, the mathematics teacher, could be seen with a student of Upper Sixth (Tle A4 Espagnol), Nguelle Ayisi, confessing their love to one another.

Just like the school disapproves with the incident, the father of the girl is equally not satisfied with the act of the teacher, but has allowed justice to take it’s course.

It is not the first time that the image of Frantz Fanon Bilingual College is out to test. Most often, such situations are likened to a political sabotage like in 2017 when detractors tried to drag the image of the school in the mud following the death of a student.

Frants Fanon Bilingual College it should be noted is a reference center for education.

Last academic year, the institution had about 92% pass in the baccalaureate examinations in some disciplines.

The school is part of a group (Frantz Fanon Group), and the group has other structures like a sports academy.

The sports academy is equally a center of studies, where students are educated and also learn how to play.

The sports academy now has a team in the second division league of the centre region.
