The Prime Minister and Head of Government, Chief Dr. Joseph Dion Ngute, has rallied the people of the South West Region to stand firmly behind President Paul Biya, whom he described as the best and only choice for their future.
Speaking on September 27 in Buea during the regional launch of the CPDM’s campaign, the PM urged the population to ensure a landslide victory for Biya in the October 12, 2025 presidential election.
He stressed that the region’s privileges, opportunities, and ongoing development projects hinge on Biya’s continued leadership.
From representation in Parliament and the Senate to major projects like the Kumba Gas Plant, Dion Ngute cited proof of the Head of State’s commitment to the region.
He reassured the people that SONARA remains a South West asset, with reconstruction work already underway, and pointed to upcoming projects such as the Limbe Deep Seaport, the Bekoko–Idenau road, and the Tiko Airport.
“Politics is a game of interest, and President Biya has the interest of the South West at heart,” the PM declared, warning that voting otherwise would be disastrous.
On criticisms about the President’s age, he dismissed them with a metaphor that drew cheers: “Those of you who are cocoa farmers, do you cut down a cocoa tree because it is old?”
For his part, Senator Nfor Tabetando, Interim Regional Delegate of the CPDM South West Permanent Delegation, urged party members to transform motions of support into votes, warning against complacency despite the region being a CPDM stronghold. “No two elections are the same,” he cautioned.
Prof. Elvis Ngole Ngole, Director of the CPDM Academy, presented the campaign’s grassroots and youth-driven strategy, noting the emphasis on social media, inclusivity, and door-to-door mobilization.
Biya, who pledged a mandate dedicated to youth and women, is expected to drive home that promise throughout the campaign.
The rally ended with resounding chants of loyalty, as the South West Region reaffirmed its determination to deliver a resounding victory for Biya.
