News of the arrests of Patrick Assanga fondly called Paddy Assanga broke out this Wednesday, October 9, 2019 by midday.
The London based Cameroonian and pro Southern Cameroons Independence activists who recently responded to President Paul Biya’s invitation to attend the just ended major national dialogue in Cameroon is alleged to have been apprehended by security forces at the Kondengui maximum security prison as he visited some Anglophone detainees.
Report says Paddy Assanga was picked up for purportedly taking images in the detention facility which is an act, forbidden by the law of the nation.
Source from political parties especially the Social Democratic Front, SDF, indicate that the “moderate activists” at press time had been transferred to the Yaoundé Central Prison No. 2 (SED).
