Story, Louvier Kindo Tombe

The Babanki (Kejom) community in Yaounde had gathered to launch the maiden edition of their magazine dub “Fètítìh”, loosely translated as “The Story”, when the people’s representative, Hon. Agho Oliver Bamenju, made his entrance in the community hall.

He had come to take part in the launch but many did not know that he came along with a surprise package.

They were taken aback when the president of the cultural and development association of the community (KEKCULDA – Yaounde), Mr. Ndifon James Vibime, announced the first edition of the “Hon. Agho Awards of Excellence”.

“Our brother has decided to encourage excellence among us, and we are proud of him,” Mr Ndifon James said.

The Hon. Agho Awards of Excellence, is an initiative that rewards individual commitment as well as group work towards promoting Kejom activities in Yaounde and beyond.

“It is not all about the reward, the idea is to instill the spirit of excellence in every Kejom soul,” Hon. Agho declared.

Seven special categories were rewarded this first edition of the Hon. Agho Awards of Excellence.

“We thank him a lot and pray his initiatives continue to impact the entire Kejom community.”

News Upfront gathered from authentic sources that Hon. Agho Oliver, is planning to make the ‘Awards of Excellence’ big next year. He has made support to his people, his main priority.

“I am always available to support a vision that will impact the people I represent at the national assembly and beyond,” Hon. Agho Oliver told News Upfront.

The Magazine Launch

Besides promoting excellence through the presentation of awards to outstanding leaders, Hon. Agho Oliver was instrumental in the launch of the maiden edition of the Kejom magazine (Fètítìh).

After presenting observations and proposals to the editorial board of the magazine, the people’s representative launched the project with the sum of FCFA 200.000, promising to do more in the near future

The Magazine it should be noted retraces the history of Kejom activities in Yaounde and beyond.

Special attention is also given to icons of Kejom from time immemorial.

“It is important that the history of Kejom be narrated orally, but it is obvious that there is an urgent need for it to be written and properly so,” Mr. Ndifon James said in the editorial of the magazine.

The MP for Bafut-Tubah continue to make strides in the development of his constituency. Recently he was in Bambui, where he carried out similar gestures to the peace loving people of the community.

At each stop, Hon. Agho Oliver will stop at nothing to invite his people to shun violence, embrace peace and work as a people because “if you want to go fast, go alone, but if you want to go far, move along with others”.
