FENASCO A: 10 days of ‘Bluetiful’ games in Limbe

For 10 days in Limbe, South West region, Cameroon Telecommunications (CAMTEL) provided unmatched digital services to students and officials during the 2024 FENASCO A games.

It was a promise fulfilled once again by CAMTEL. The incumbent telecommunications operator was very instrumental in the success of the games.

“Our role as a corporate citizen company is also to support sporting and educational initiatives. That is what we just did in Limbe,” says Georges Essama, from CAMTEL’s Marketing Department.

He was speaking at the Limbe Centenary Stadium during the closing of the 24th edition of the games Tuesday April 9, 2024. CAMTEL was present in Limbe with almost all the services of its Business Unit Mobile.

“First of all we were involved in providing mobile and fixed broadband internet during the competition to the participants and also at the various sites of the games.” the marketing scribe told News Upfront.

“We equally participated in sponsoring some major prizes to the best students and delegations in partnership with the ministry of secondary education.”

The feedback from the different delegations that took part in the competition was really amazing.

The flagship product of CAMTEL “Blue“, was appreciated by both old and new subscribers in the South West region, for the services are adapted to meet customers’ needs.

“People were really happy to see us in Limbe supporting sports and Education,” Georges Essama said adding that “we are really pleased to have participated in the games”.

The games in figures

The FENASCO League A Games, which commenced on Tuesday, April 2, brought together over 2,000 athletes from across Cameroon’s 10 regions to compete in 12 sporting disciplines for a period of 10 days.

They participated with passion and determination standing out brilliantly.

The Centre region was crowned best delegation in the general standing with 57 medals, 36 in gold, 11 in bronze and 11 in silver.

They were followed by the Far North region, 57 medals too but 22 in gold, 14 in bronze and 21 in silver. On position number 3 was the North region with 49 medals and then the South West region was 4th with 36 medals.

About CAMTEL

The telecom giant in 25 years old and activities marking the 25th anniversary continue nationwide.

Last month, the company organized the “CAMTEL Women’s Day” during which women from all walks of life were encouraged to embrace digital entrepreneurship. Partnerships were also signed to support some female entrepreneurs in their respective activities.

Before the Women’s Day was the “CAMTEL Youth Day” with focused on involving youth in all CAMTEL activities for they are the heart of the country.

Activities to mark CAMTEL @25 continue across the country.
