The ceremony took place at the premises of the newly constructed Presbyterian Church in Bonamoumme, Bonaberi, Douala IV sub division of the Littoral region. The beneficiaries were both nursery and primary school pupils. They were accompanied to the event, some by their parents and others by their guardians.

Among the didactic materials donated to the IDP children were exercise books, text books, pens, pencils, rulers, chalks, arm-boards, and school bags. The IDP children were encouraged to make good use of the materials.

“It will please us if you use these school needs properly and bring back good results at the end of the school year,” says the promoter of the event, His Majesty Thomas A. FOTANG, aka Pa Tom.

The event this year which was in it’s 8th edition was dubbed “if we can read and write, then 300 IDP/Orphans can go back to school”. It was placed on the theme “a smile for the needy in sorrow”.

“We thank God for providing the means to reach out to the needy, and we thank those who made the dream possible,” Pa Tom said.

The beneficiaries did not hide their feelings. Besides singing songs of praise, they prayed for God to bless the Grass 2 Grace Humanitarian Foundation (G2G) and it’s promoter.

“You will reap what you sow,” a parent said after receiving school needs for her child.

The beneficiaries is should be noted are coming from the North West and South West regions of Cameroon where an armed conflict since 2016 has provoked thousands of people to flee. Many have dropped out from school as a result of the crisis.

For eight years now, the humanitarian NGO, Grass 2 Grace foundation has been standing shoulders high, in assisting IDPs and orphans with back to school kits.

The founder and CEO of the NGO, Thomas A. FOTANG aka Pa Tom is not ready to stop anytime soon.
