It is a tradition for rotary club Yoaunde etoile to reach out to the less privileged in the society. The present world cuisines fair that opened on Friday March 17, 2023 at the Yaounde Golf Club is in its fourth edition.

Rotary members believe that they have a shared responsibility to take action on the world’s most persistent issues, that is why they provide service to others, promote integrity, and advance world understanding, goodwill, and peace through their fellowship of business, professional, and community leadership.

To do that, they need funds and that explains the organization of the world cuisines fair.

“This is the main project that the club uses every year to raise funds to take care of the less privileged,” says Madam Agbor Agnes, President elect of rotary club Yoaunde etoile.

The present culinary arts festival is holding on the theme “world cuisines, reach out and bring hope”.

“By organising world cuisines, we identify some key restaurants and embassies ready to provide food to the public and families who come to share with us,” says Madam Agbor Agnes.

She was speaking recently at the Djeuga Palace Hotel in Yaounde during a press conference that announced the event.

The world cuisines fair according to its organizers is aimed at bringing people together through exchanges on different cultural dishes.

It is equally a platform to promote international dishes from various regions of the world.

Rotary’s people of action from the rotary club Yoaunde etoile have used their passion, energy, and intelligence to take action on sustainable projects.

“This year we are ready to support children especially those in primary schools,” says Madam Agbor.

Among the different partners of the event are restaurants presenting dishes from Cameroon, Senegal, Italy, Turkey, Holland just to name but these.

Since the start of the fair, families have been coming in to have a taste of the different types of dishes.

“I came here with my wife and children to visit and taste of good food from other countries,” a visitor told News Upfront.

“My wife is fond of Italian dishes.”

Most people visiting the festival ground come along with their families including children.

The organisers took that into consideration and special measures were taken to keep the children busy throughout the visit.

Most children who accompany their parents to the world cuisines fair return satisfied. This is because of the various entertainment and merry making facilities set up at the festival ground.

“We are here for the kid’s satisfaction,” says William MIALE, manager of WAMEC.

“We have a variety of entertainment games for kids that keep them busy throughout their stay at the festival ground,” William MIALE told this reporter.
