On June 9th, 2021, a Diploma of Honour was awarded by ‘Regroupement des Jeunes Intellectuels d’Afrique’ to Dr. Eric Mulumba Zozo, for his commitment to improve the human capital formation and fight against poverty and racism in Africa, America, Asia, and Europe.

Indeed, in the last two decades, the recipient has distinguished himself with his relevant work to promote the improvement of human capital formation through the training of leaders, academics, and students in collaboration with local and international agencies.

He also conceived and implemented, with public and private institutions, various types of training for entrepreneurs and representatives of local communities.

Besides, Dr. Mulumba Zozo, initiated numerous meetings, conferences, and seminars to fight against poverty and promote economic growth. Moreover, he has not limited his work to proposing, in his 5 published books, theoretical and practical solutions for poverty alleviation, but he was also very active on the ground.

Alongside local communities, high-ranking experts such as Dr. Efraim Laor, national and international institutions, the awardee met people in need several times, especially in Africa to provide them with material and technical assistance that can render them productive, autonomous, and integrated into their societies.

Dr. Mulumba Zozo has advocated various audiences on multiple occasions against racism, a form of social injustice which damages our societies.

With this in mind, he has actively participated in diverse information and training sessions against various forms of racism in Africa, America, Asia, and Europe.

Through his involvement with ambassadors, parliamentarians, and other such personalities, like the Rev. Jesse Jackson, he was able to put forth several campaigns that put in light the effect of racism and strategies to fight against it.

After having co-chaired with the former MPE Cecille Kyenge a successful conference at the European Parliament, on the 17th of October 2018, about the impact of displaced people phenomena on human capital formation in Africa and Europe, Dr. Eric Mulumba Zozo, has intensified initiatives to improve and promote the labour force both in Africa, in Europe and the USA.

In Africa and Europe, in collaboration with local universities, European, African, and Israeli experts, he has established Training of Trainers (TOT) Programmes to perpetuate adequate handling of human assets.

In the USA, Dr. EMZ, is co-director of a programme that aims to promote human capital in the fields of STEM in all 50 states of the USA.

This important programme is designed to be implemented by experts and leaders from different backgrounds to improve U.S. technological and economic performances.

All these accomplishments adequately legitimize the intellectual gathering that was designed to honor Dr. Eric Mulumba Zozo’s effective and tenacious work.

This award by the ‘Regroupement des Jeunes Intellectuels d’Afrique”, a group of African intellectuals active in different countries, is a good initiative to support efforts to boost human capital worldwide.

Indeed, supporting people who do good actions to improve the well-being of people motivates others to do the same to uplift our societies and promote general sustainability.

“The recognition of [one’s] work is only a recognition, but recognition is a formidable engine that we must acknowledge.” – Laurent Denancy said.
