Africa Global Development For Positive Change Initiative (ADIafrica), a Pan-African organization, has charged international bodies to throw their heavy weight behind Madagascar for its discovery of a Coronavirus treatment which could safe humanity.
ADIafrica in a recent release issued by its founding President, Prince Dan Mbachi, stated that, the deteriorating state of the affected people on the continent and the world by extension, cannot be neglected; “We therefore call on Africa Union, European Union, United Nations, World Health Organization to support this country (Madagascar) with the necessary apparatus to produce this medication (Covid-Organics) in larger quantity so that people can have access to it”, said Mr. Mbachi.
The World Health Organization (WHO)Regional Director for Africa, Matshidiso Moeti, in a press briefing, warned against the use of Covid-Organics (CVO) without any medical supervision and caution against self medication. The WHO further said, it had not approved the concoction for patients suffering from Covid-19.
The African Union which had been feet dragging, is now in discussion with the Republic of Madagascar, through its head office at Addis Ababa; it seeks to obtain technical data regarding the safety and efficiency of a herbal remedy, recently announced by Madagascar for the reported prevention and treatment of COVID-19.
In this regard, the AU Commissioner for Social Affairs, H.E Amira ElFadil convened a meeting with the Chargé d’Affaires of the Republic of Madagascar Mr. Eric Randrianantoandro on April 30, where it was agreed that the member states will furnish the African Union with necessary details regarding the herbal remedy.
The ADIafrica boss has however, expressed the need to believe in the potency of African herbs and to invest in the sector.
“Funds should be channeled into this discovery as this is no doubt a solid ground for investment for the World Health Organization and Africa Union. Traditional medicine is an African thing and will always be,” he further said.
It should be recalled that, Andry Rajoelina, Malagasy President, had slammed the WHO for not endorsing its Covid-19 herbal cure.
“If it were a European country which had discovered this remedy, would there have been many doubts? I don’t think so” he said in an exclusive interview with France 24, Paris-based international television news network and Radio France International.
Mr Mbachi explained that, “ADIafrica stands for Africa development and will identify with elements that sets to bring about positive change in the continent irrespective of the area it comes from”.

The Pan-African organization has promised its full support to the oceanic nation.
In its part, ADIafrica has committed to give full assistance to Madagascar. To buttress this, support moves will be put in place by the ADIafrica team to pay a courtesy visit to the president of Madagascar; by doing this, ADIafrica aims to say thank you for changing the face of Africa’s health system amidst this Pandemic” he narrated.
According to John Hopkins University, Madagascar has only 2 death out of the 3,257 death now recorded on the continent; As of May 25, the oceanic state has recorded 457 COVID-19 cases.
The global death toll from the novel coronavirus stands at 346,774 with more than 5.5 million confirmed cases; recoveries have now reached 2.3 million, according to a running tally by US-based Johns Hopkins University & worldometers.info
