The charity outreach event took place on Saturday September 7 in Douala, economic capital of Cameroon.
The back to school event was organized under the theme: “Raise Your Helping Hands for Helpless Children”.
“Educating children is fundamental, we can do better if we unite as one, hence a great nation void of children who are massively suffering,” says Chief THOMAS FOTANG, CEO of Grass 2 Grace humanitarian organization.
The children who benefited from the donation were mostly nursery and primary school pupils, IDPs and orphans from the Douala 4 municipality, precisely from Ngwelle quarters and it’s environs.
The choice for Nursery 1, 2, and primary 1 to 6 was intentional by the organisers.
“We considered their state of vulnerability as internally displaced kids and orphans, whose only dream is to go back to school after the long summer holidays,” Thomas FOTANG said.
The school items were made up of exercise books, pens, pencils, water bottles, school bags, sharpeners, Erasers, rulers, Armboards , chalks, dusters, colours just to name a few.
The project was initiated and led by Grass 2 Grace humanitarian organization, a Douala based Non Governmental Organisation.
Grass 2 Grace humanitarian organisation is in its 10th mini project, bringing peace and joy into wounded minds of IDPs / orphans, since the crises started in the North West and South West regions of the country.
