Story, Louvier Kindo Tombe

Musango Bus Service (MBS) is fast becoming the lead transport agency in Cameroon. The company is investing more on customer satisfaction.

One of its recent achievements is the inauguration of a VIP lounge at the Yaounde branch office.

“The VIP sector is totally changing,” says Dinga Derick Gasah, Managing Director of MBS.

The inauguration took place Monday July 22, 2024, during a ceremony attended by the personnel of the company.

The standard of the VIP Lounge of Musango Bus Service is compared to none. It is equipped with an air conditioner, massage chairs, free Wi-Fi, built-in USB ports for smartphone charging, modern restrooms, and the services are unmatched and first class. Access is free but limited to VIP customers.

The VIP sector of Musango offers two trips daily. The first trip begins at 6:00 AM and the second trip is at 10:00 PM.

We are moving forward – Managing Director

Dinga Derick Gasah, Managing Director of Musango Bus Service

Many had thought that Musango Bus service will witness a setback after the demise of its co-founder, Mola MOTANGA Andrew MONJIMBA, some years back, but the story is rather different. “Things are moving forward and things are growing,” the MD said. “It’s been 2 years and Musango is still standing, stronger than before.”

The acquisition of new buses, the VIP lounge, the renovation of company infrastructure, the opening of new branches are just some few examples to corroborate the fact that MBS is still alive. However, these did not all happened on a bed of roses.

“It has really been a tough period since you understand that when the pillar of a building is removed the building might collapse, but with the resistance we have put in place and the training we acquired from the co-founder, we are struggling to push from where he left so that his legacy should not go down,” the MD told News Upfront.

“He left a map, we are reading it and we are moving forward.”

The Managing Director

If the co-founder of MBS, late Mola MOTANGA Andrew MONJIMBA was a great leader, his son, DINGA Derick Gasah, is a better manager who has learned a lot over time.

“I wouldn’t have been in this position without my father, he actually saw in me what I couldn’t see,” says Dinga Derick.

Dinga Derick Gasah was personally groomed by his late father in a way that nobody saw him coming until when the time was ripe for him to excel.

The soft spoken yet dynamic Managing Director has proven his worth in piloting the company activities. His courage and determination cannot be over emphasized. He has taken the company from one level to another and the vision continues.

The achievements of the young leader have attracted positive recognition to his person. During the inauguration of the VIP lounge, he was decorated with a medal and presented an award for his courage and steadfastness.

The G2G Courageous Men Award was presented to him by the Goodwill Ambassador of the UN-CISRI Cameroon, a permanent observatory mission in the country, H. E. Fotang Thomas Ayuk, who doubles as CEO of Grass 2 Grace Humanitarian Foundation.

“We are celebrating a mover and a shaker, who is an example of a veritable nation builder,” says H. E. Fotang Thomas Ayuk, aka Pa Tom.

“Dinga Derick Gasah is an example to emulate.”

Speaking shortly after the decoration and presentation of award, the Managing Director dedicated the award to his late father for his hope and trust in him, and for molding him to who he is today.

“This award is actually his. I would have been nothing without him.”
