The Governor of Southwest region, Bernard Okalia Bilai will in the days ahead dispatch and supervise the distribution of the region’s consignment of President Biya’s support to the population in the face of the novel virus, Covid-19.
Trucks carry the Southwest consignment of medical kits and hygienic materials were received Wednesday afternoon at the Governor’s office in Buea town.
The special gift from the Head of State worth two billion frs cfa comprises cartoons of soap, face masks, handsanitizers, household buckets meant for the local population in the 28 subdivisions in Southwest and surgical masks, test kits and respiratory devices meant for hospitals
Mr Okalia Bilai told the press, Comisions have been put in place already to distribute the consignments to all the 6 Divisions and the 28 Subdivisions in the South West Region.
During a presentation ceremony of the Special Gifts in Yaounde on Tuesday, Territorial Administration Boss Paul Atanga Nji revealed that teams from the department of civil protection at his ministry are accompanying the ten convoys to assist the administrative authorities in distribution and awareness campaign for the killer virus.
The Chief Executive Officer of Southwest now have ten days to ensure the donations reach the grassroots population.
