“Entrepreneurship”: UNDP Trains, Assists Youths and Young Girls

Over 150 young Cameroonians are receiving the training on project development, financial education, marketing packaging and quality.

The training in Yaounde is taking place at the Women’s Empowerment Centre in Nkoldongo.

It was Official Launched Wednesday by the Ministers of Youth Affairs and Civic Education, Mounouna Foutsou, the Minister of Women’s Empowerment and the Family, Abena Ondoa Nee Obama Marie Therese.

The United Nations Development Program in Cameroon was represented at the ceremony by the Deputy Resident Representative, Alasane Ba.

The young entrepreneurs selected from across the region during the training are equally showcasing their products to the public.

Focus is mainly on transformation of products made in Cameroon.

The objective is to encourage Cameroonians to consume products made in the country.

Speaking at the launching, Minister Abena Ondoa Nee Obama Marie Therese enjoined the youths to seize the opportunity given to them and get into the business market with professionalism.

Minister Mounouna Foutsou of Youth Affairs said the Government will continue to assist the young entrepreneurs in their adventure.

The United Nations Development Program who is brain behind the project promised to assist the young entrepreneurs through out their training and beyond.

The training program that started in Yaounde last December 03, will end on Wednesday, December 16, 2020.

It should be noted that a total of over 500 youths are concerned in the project with others receiving similar training in other regions of the country.
