SAGO 2025 provides the perfect platform for CAMTEL to showcase its vision for a more connected and digitally empowered Cameroon.

The event taking place in Yaounde is holding on the theme “Public service and the challenge of Cameroon’s economic growth”.

Highlight of the telecom operators participation at SAGO 2025 was a conference which focused on ‘CAMTEL Mobile: For a more connected Cameroon’.

Mr. Daniel Désiré Ollé, Deputy General Manager of CAMTEL, who chaired the conference took center stage to reveal the company’s strategic plans for 5G deployment.

“Since 2015, CAMTEL has deployed 2G, 3G, and 4G technologies at the same level as other operators,” he stated.

“Today, we are moving further with 5G infrastructure already in place on the hardware level. All that remains is activating the software components once the national 5G strategy is officially adopted.”

By envisaging 5G, CAMTEL intends to catapult Cameroon into the league of nations with cutting-edge digital infrastructure, enabling faster data speeds, enhanced connectivity, and unprecedented opportunities for economic growth.

Mr. Ollé also highlighted the company’s plans for network expansion, stating that CAMTEL aims to “significantly improve service quality and increase coverage from 40% to 80% starting in early 2025.”

It is not the first time CAMTEL is participating at SAGO, but this time around the telecom operator came with ground-breaking digital innovations to thrill the fair.
