The three days forum will hold in Yaounde, political capital of Cameroon from November 16-18, 2023. Holding at Franco Hotel, the forum will feature panel discussions, workshops, and networkingo pportunities.
Some 150 young activists from across the continent would be empowered to advocate for increased funding for climate adaptation in Africa by more than double.
Participants will gain knowledge and skills in climate finance, advocacy, and project development. By mobilising young activists, the forum will amplify the voices of the youth in the climate adaptation discourse.
The Youth Forum on Adaptation Finance in Africa is a critical step towards addressing the adaptation finance gap and safeguarding the continent’s future.
It will culminate in a coordinated advocacy campaign to raise awareness and call for action on adaptation finance in Africa.
Participants will issue “The Yaounde African Youth Call for More than Doubling Climate Finance for Africa’s Future”. The call will be presented at a side event at COP28 in December 2023.
The Yaounde come together is organized by the Africa Coalition for Sustainable Energy and Access (ACSEA), which is a network of civil society organizations, private sector actors, and academia working to promote clean energy solutions and climate resilience across the continent. ACSEA is organizing the forum along with the Pan-African Climate Justice Alliance.
