Dressed in the official white shirt and black coat of the Yaounde International Business School, the new students happily marched into the ceremonial hall for the matriculation exercise. It was tradition respected at the Yaounde International Business School. Over 1,100 new studens received their matricules during the 2023/2024 matriculation day.

Besides taking the matriculation oath, the freshmen signed an undertaking to abide by the student’s code of conduct after which they were given the official documents of the institution.

The ceremony was chaired by the president of YIBS, Mr Acho Godfred Taku who revealed that the Yaounde International Business School is ‘a place to be’.

“We have a strategic plan for success in this new academic year,” Mr Acho Godfred Taku said.

The Vice Chancellor of the institution, Rev. Prof. Anyambod Emmanuel Anya, speaking at the ceremony stressed on the holistic nature of training at YIBS, where both the administration, the teaching staff, students and parents play key roles.

“The teachers are adopting a participatory and consultative approach in delivering lessons where no student is left behind,” Rev. Prof. Anyambod Emmanuel Anya said.

The academic discourse on the occasion focus on “an innovative mindset, the foundation for professional excellence”. The students were told to work beyond their comfort zones, be in charge of their destiny, have faith and compliment the efforts of the staff and their parents through hardwok.

“We pledge to uphold discipline and good moral standards as we embark on the academic journey at YIBS,” a management student told News Upfront.

One of the highlights of the matriculation was a presentation on morals and discipline. The freshmen who equally received a copy of the rules and regulations of the institution were called upon to build self discipline by respecting everyone in campus.

Discipline and good morals according to the Vice Chancellor of YIBS are key elements to academic success.
