The cap-throwing and tearful farewells of graduation day often mask a daunting reality: the terrifying question of what comes next.
For the 2026 graduating class of the WAGUE Institute, baptized the “Sita Bella” batch, the milestone was not merely an ending, but a carefully guided launchpad into the future.
Gathered for their final official ceremony, the young graduates celebrated their achievements while absorbing crucial wisdom from university dons, school leadership, and mentors.
Named after the legendary trail-blazing journalist Sita Bella, this year’s batch was explicitly challenged to mirror her courage and ambition.
”Education does not end with a certificate; in truth, real education only starts after the GCE,”Principal Blaise Dami declared while addressing the assembly.
“We chose the name Sita Bella for this batch because of her extraordinary exploits. It is our fervent wish that every single girl stepping out of our doors today emulates that bravery, steps into higher learning with confidence, and makes her mark on the world.”
Central to the ceremony was an intensive academic and professional orientation session designed to strip away the confusion that often plagues high school graduates.
University experts urged the outgoing students to resist the pressure of choosing generic academic paths simply for status.
“Do not simply follow the crowd or pick a course because it sounds prestigious,” advised Prof. Hermine Bille Ngalle, a specialist in Plant Biology and Physiology at the University of Yaoundé I, during the orientation panel.
“To build a meaningful career, your choice of higher education must align three vital elements: your true passion, your innate talent, and the realistic opportunities available in today’s job market. Find that intersection and pursue it fearlessly.”
The atmosphere was filled with deep gratitude as the young women reflected on their transformative journey at the institution. This dedication to excellence was already visible in the school’s stellar performance in recent official Baccalaureate examinations, with similar triumph anticipated for the upcoming GCE results.
”Institute Polyvalent WAGUE did not just teach us formulas and essays; the academic staff instilled in us a level of discipline and self-belief that transformed who we are,” shared graduate Claude Marco Madadjio during her speech.
“We leave here today deeply thankful for our teachers, fully prepared not to abandon our studies, but to chase our dreams into university and beyond.”
By pairing academic rigour with deliberate career orientation, WAGUE Institute ensured its graduates walked off the stage with far more than just certificates.
They left equipped with a roadmap, inspired not just to continue their studies, but to pursue higher education with clear intention, unfading passion, and an eye on future opportunities.
