The groundbreaking entrepreneurship and leadership summit brought together young entrepreneurs, innovators, and thought leaders to explore the possibilities of empowering youths and promoting entrepreneurship in Cameroon.
“I think this is the most important thing that has happen to Cameroon and Africa as far as youth entrepreneurship is concerned,” says Dr. Erise Mary Dinga, founding president of EMMI Empire.
She was speaking at the summit that held in Yaoundé on December 19, 2024 on the theme “sustainable empowerment through innovation and creative thinking”.
“Bringing youths together, connecting them to opportunities, networking them to one another, what else can we hope for?”
The Emmi Global Entrepreneurial Leadership Summit, held within the framework of the Youth Connekt program where Dr. Erise Mary Dinga is ambassador.
“The youths in Cameroon are not sleeping. They are learning a lot from the different available incubators and opportunities, like the Youth Connekt program,” she said.
The summit was a testament to the endless efforts of EMMI Empire, a pioneering organization dedicated to fostering entrepreneurship and innovation in Cameroon.
Through its initiatives, EMMI Empire has been instrumental in providing young entrepreneurs with the tools, resources, and mentorship needed to succeed in today’s fast-paced business landscape.
The summit’s focus on sustainable empowerment resonated deeply with the attendees, who were inspired by the keynote speakers, panel discussions, and networking opportunities.
“Back in my university days, I had to do a lot on my own to gain skills. It is wonderful that EMMI Empire is bringing together young people to share on how they can get such skills and prepare for global opportunities,” says Felix Fomengia, an IT expert who was guest speaker at the summit.
He inspired the youth on how they can make use of social media and still manage their time in school.
The event provided a platform for young entrepreneurs to share their ideas, collaborate with peers, and learn from industry experts.
“Entrepreneurship is very big in Cameroon but limited. The advise i will give to entrepreneurs is for them to focus more on branding, and marketing of their products especially online,” Precious Mambo, Vice President of EMMI Empire said.
A book on how to monetise your Ideas was dissected during the summit, and according to Dr Erise Mary Dinga, Cameroon needs youths that dream big, are inspired, and creative.
“Good ideas are those that solve problems in the society, if you solve a problem, you can easily make money out of it,” she added.
“Youth Connekt is there to connect the youth to opportunities.”
Present at the summit was the Director of Youth Connekt Cameroon, who engages in discussion with Dr. Erise Mary, Ambassador of Youth Connekt Cameroon.
The discussion focused on collaborative efforts to empower and uplift young individuals within the region, fostering opportunities for growth and DEVELOPMENT.
