They were 29 in number, senior officers and majors from the Nigerian Army College of Logistics and Management who visited the Head Office of CAMTEL in Yaoundé on Thursday, September 12, 2024.

The visit was within the framework of the college’s Senior Leadership and Staff Officers’ Course 2 – 2024. The delegation was led by Brigadier General JIB Mangang, Director of Studies of the college.

“The objective of our visit to CAMTEL was to take the students out of the classroom and expose them to the field of action,” Brigadier General JIB Manjang said.

“We want them to better explore the strategic environment of operations.”

The delegation was received at CAMTEL by the Technical Adviser No. 1, Francis Ottou, who said “the visit is part of a drive to strengthen skills and share knowledge between our two countries”.

The senior staff offices’ were more interested in the digital strides of the company and how it can contribute in boosting National Security.

CAMTEL, on the occasion presented on the theme: “enhancing national security through regional cooperation for socio-economic development”. The importance of digital services within the ranks of the military cannot be over emphasized.

The world is evolving in an environment where war and security are no longer limited to traditional battlefields. Cyberspace is now a new front, and cybercrime represents a global threat that can destabilize entire states.

“CAMTEL, as a pillar of telecommunications in Cameroon plays a central role in this new invisible war,” says Francis OTTOU.

“CAMTEL is not only a key player in the digital strides, but also a vector of resilience for our citizens.” “… our mission extends to creating innovative solutions to guarantee the security and digital sovereignty of our nation.”

During a question and answer session, CAMTEL scribes edified the senior staff officers’ on contributions made in upgrading the services of Cameroon defense and security operations.

Before leaving CAMTEL, major FF ATUME, on behalf of the senior Nigerian army officers presented a vote of thanks to CAMTEL.

The Senior Leadership and Staff Officers’ Course 2 – 2024

The Senior Leadership Staff Officer’s Course 2 – 2024 was inaugurated on Monday, April 29, 2024 in Nigeria. The ceremony was chaired by the Commandant of the Nigerian Army College of logistics and Management, Major General Wisdom ETUK.

The modified mandate of the college is to “produce knowledgeable logisticians and staff –trained officers with requisite leadership skills that are capable of effectively discharging their duties in both joint and combined military operations at higher levels using contemporary management concepts and technics”.

The Nigerian Army College of logistics and Management was created in 2002.

Worth noting is the fact that Cameroon and Nigeria have come a long way together and they equally have common challenges, reasons why the visit was timely.
