Story, Louvier Kindo Tombe

The member of Parliament for Bafut-Tubah constituency in the North West Region of Cameroon was wearing a smile on his face when he handed over the envelope containing the sum of FCFA 500,000 to scribes of the Bafut Manjong group in Yaounde.

He was responding to a fund raising appeal from the community, where funds raised would help secure additional land to extend and upgrade the Manjong hall in Etoug Ebe to a befitting edifice that will serve the entire Bafut community in Yaounde and beyond.

“This is an opportunity we need to grasp and make good use of it,” Hon. Agho Oliver Bamenju said.

The MP was speaking to leaders of the Manjong group on Saturday April 6, 2024, as he visited the Manjong hall and the earmarked land in question to see for himself.

“I came to first of all see what is at stake, now I have seen, we need to work together to achieve this project.

Speaking shortly after the gesture, the MP, called on all the sons and daughters of Bafut at home and in the Diaspora to mobilize resources towards the success of the project.

“Let’s take the advantage of this call and chip in our modest support,” Hon. Agho said.

“What matters much is not the amount, what we need is the number, because it is little drops of water that make an ocean.”

It is not the first time Hon. Agho Oliver Bamenju, is responding to calls from the Bafut community.

In December 2022, during their cultural festival in Yaounde, the Member of Parliament supported the community with the sum of close to FCFA 3 million.

Besides, Bafut, the different villages of the Bafut-Tubah Constituency in the North West region continue to benefit from the unmatched gestures of their representative at the National Assembly.

The Member of Parliament is just being true to himself. He has always valued the interest of his constituents and has stopped at nothing to come to their assistance.

Leaders of the Bafut Manjong group lauded the initiative from Hon. Agho Oliver Bamenju, hoping that other sons and daughters of the land would emulate to make the dream come true, giving that the deadline to achieve the deal is fast approaching.
