Cameroons telecommunications, Camtel and the Cameroon football federation, FECAFOOT have signed a partnership agreement that will give back live to Corporate and Veteran football championship in Cameroon.

The agreement was paraphrased in Yaounde on Monday 17 April 2023. The general manager of Camtel, Judith Yah Sunday Epse Achidi signed on behalf of the incumbent telecommunications company.

“We are extremely pleased with the signing of this partnership with FECAFOOT,” Judith Yah Sunday said.

Corporate and veteran football in Cameroon had been in hibernation for over 30 years now since it’s heydays in the 80s and 90s. The new management of FECAFOOT last year decided to bring it back on the pitch. The partnership with Camtel is thus timely.

“We are happy to have Camtel as one of our key partners in the promotion of football in Cameroon,” FECAFOOT’s president, Samuel Eto’o Fils said during the signing ceremony.

“We thank Camtel for trusting us as we prepare to launch the first edition of the corporate and veteran football championship,” he added.

Within the framework of the partnership, Camtel will provide a financial package as well as electronic communications product and services.

“As a true corporate citizen, our company intends to continue giving back to our communities, and sports is a great opportunity for us,” Judith Yah Sunday said.

Camtel will equally be the main brand throughout the corporate and veteran football championship and will provide services to all actors and stakeholders to make the experience remarkable.

“We look forward to a successful partnership,” Samuel Eto’o said.

The present partnership will last for one year, with an option for a further two years to be signed.

Camtel is not new in sport sponsorship in Cameroon, but this time the company has decided to extend its footprints.

“We want to support football as we have been doing regularly with other sport disciplines.”

Camtel, it should be noted is actively present in disciplines like cycling, volleyball, and athletics.
