Story, Louvier Kindo Tombe
From the creeks of Isangele and Idabato to the plains of Mundemba, CPDM militants and sympathizers turned out in their numbers Tuesday September 30 for a mega rally that launched the divisional campaign.
Speaker after speaker reaffirmed their loyalty to the ruling party’s flag bearer, declaring that only President Biya embodies the experience, wisdom, and resilience needed to lead Cameroon forward.
“We shall follow the old broom,” declared Mayor Ekenue Samuel of Mundemba, likening the Head of State to the seasoned hand who knows the corners of the house.
He called on the population to repay Biya’s trust, reminding them of the many projects Ndian has benefitted from under his leadership, including the appointment of Chief Dr. Dion Ngute as Prime Minister.
For the Ndian I Section President, the message was simple: “Biya is our choice.” He described the Head of State as a humanist, nationalist, and advocate for peace, urging militants to stay united and mobilize every registered voter to ensure a resounding CPDM victory.
Women and youth leaders echoed the same conviction. Vice Speaker of the National Assembly, Hon. Mary Meboka, hailed Biya’s commitment to women’s empowerment, pointing to the 30% quota for female representation on electoral lists.
She appealed to young people, especially those still in the bushes, to drop arms and embrace education and development. “Our children must return to school, because education is the key to a brighter future,” she added.
Prof. Horace Ngomo Manga, Vice Chancellor of the University of Buea, praised the President’s investment in education, noting that every region now boasts a university, with access to primary and secondary education nearly universal.
Economic recovery was also spotlighted. Tapéa Solomon Mbile, General Manager of PAMOL, credited Biya’s reconstruction plan for reviving the agro-industrial giant.
Once reduced to fewer than 400 workers in 2020, PAMOL now employs over 1,000 and is regaining its place as a leading employer and producer in Cameroon.
In his keynote message, Minister Balungeli Confiance Ebune, head of the Ndian Divisional Campaign Team, saluted the resilience of the people, who despite burying loved ones and suffering hardship, have not lost faith.
“Ndian will not be deceived. We will not betray the memories of our forebears. We are with Biya, because he is tested and has given us a place of honour in Cameroon’s destiny,” he declared.
As chants of unity and loyalty filled Mundemba, the message from Ndian was unmistakable: on October 12, their choice is Paul Biya — the leader they say has never abandoned them.
