Story, Louvier Kindo Tombe

The people of Ndian Division have once again proven their unwavering loyalty to President Paul Biya, handing him a resounding 98.9% victory in the October 12, 2025 presidential election — the highest score recorded nationwide.

According to official figures released on October 27, by the Constitutional Council, over 33,000 voters in Ndian defied separatist threats and boycott calls to cast their ballots in favour of the Head of State, securing him an eighth consecutive term.

The stunning results followed an intense CPDM campaign led by Balungeli Confiance Ebune, Director of Cabinet at the Prime Minister’s Office, under the watchful coordination of Prime Minister Joseph Dion Ngute.

Political observers say the overwhelming win in Ndian reflects not just a strong party structure, but also deep-rooted trust in Biya’s leadership.

“President Paul Biya is the only candidate we know,” PM Dion Ngute declared during the regional campaign launch in Buea on September 27, describing himself as “the legs of the Head of State.”

At that rally, CPDM officials pledged a landslide victory for the President, vowing to reach every community through a door-to-door campaign strategy. The approach, they said, would ensure that “no village or quarter was left behind.”

Unlike other parties that focused on relatively secure towns like Buea, Limbe, and Kumba, the ruling CPDM pushed deep into all six divisions of the South West Region, often braving insecurity to mobilize voters.

The payoff was clear. In the South West Region as a whole, President Biya secured 68.79% of the votes, translating to 135,975 ballots cast in his favour. Ndian led with 98.9%, followed by Manyu (91.7%), Kupe Muanenguba (74.96%), Meme (67.21%), Lebialem (68.5%), and Fako (36.47%).

Though party officials are yet to issue a formal statement, many had earlier expressed confidence in victory, urging calm and rejecting calls for post-election protests.

For now, Ndian’s record-setting turnout stands as a bold statement of political loyalty — and a decisive boost to the President’s continued reign.
