Cham Victor: The Next Big Name In Cameroon's Media Landscape

Cham Victor Bama, is undoubtedly the next Big Name in the Media Landscape in Cameroon thanks to his numerous achievements over the years.

He started like a newspaper vendor in Bamenda back then in 2010/2011 and has progressed to become triple publisher and proprietor of an ultramodern printing press with state-of-the-art infrastructure.

One of his foremost newspapers (Municipal Updates), a biweekly, first published in 2015 has stood the test of time with 195 publications.

The newspaper is set to go daily on Tuesday February 1st 2021. According to the publisher, Cham Victor, it is a long awaited dream coming true, and all has been put in place for it’s success.

“Journalists worth the name have been recruited to pilot the new daily in the market,” Cham Victor Bama, told News Upfront.

The paper will become the second English language daily newspaper in Cameroon.

The dream is even bigger than just a daily paper. Cham Victor, with his ultramodern printing press intends to launch a french version of Municipal Updates in the months ahead, while Municipal Afrique, a Magazine to chronicle communal development in Central Africa will be launched in 2022. The creation of a Television Station is also part of the ‘big dream.’

Cham Victor, is not only a journalist who has made giant strides in the journalism landscape in Cameroon, but is a teacher, youth councillor, community developer.
