The announcement was made Tuesday, February 27, 2024 in Yaounde. It was during the CAMTEL Youth Day that held on the theme “youths at the forefront of digital transformation”.
“Today we know that digital transformation is done by the youths and the start-upers are those who innovate, create, so it’s important that we take them on board and see how we can work together so that what ever they discover can be used to promote development,” says Judith Yah Sunday, General Manager of CAMTEL.
To achieve this goal, CAMTEL intends to run two major events, “BLUE TECH CHALLENGE and CAMTEL START-UP INNOVATION FORUM”.
For the BLUE TECH CHALLENGE, universities, higher institutions of learning, researchers and start-ups in the digital sector will put their know-how to test and the best will be rewarded. Digital stakeholders will have to exchange ideas and experiences both physically and online through the START-UP and INNOVATION FORUM. Both events would be held annually.
“They are meant to make technologies and Innovations available for the benefit of business development, contribute to strengthening the growth profile of startups and research systems, and make them more dynamic,” Judith Yah Sunday said in her closing statement.
