The first ever Accelerator Lab in Cameroon set up by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), has been launched.
The launching took place Friday February 26, 2021 at the Yaounde Conference Centre during a ceremony chaired by the Minister of Employment and Vocational Training, Issa Tchiroma Bakary.
The Accelerator Lab is a network of UNDP officials, Government officials in Cameroon and Development partners.
The mission of the Lab is to identify talented and enterprising youths mostly from the informal, train and assists them in realising their respective goals.
Crested in 2029, the Accelerator Lab has as objective to rethink development in the 21st century in view of assisting the government of Cameroon provide adequate jobs to unemployed Cameroonians.
During the launching, there was a presentation on the main development challenges of Cameroon with specially attention on youth issues.
The Cameroon Accelerator Lab, will not reinvent the wheel, but provides accelerated opportunities where talented and hardworking young entrepreneurs.
Speaking at the launch, Minister Issa Tchiroma Bakary praised UNDP for partnering in providing employment to Cameroonians, and called on other partners not to relent in their efforts.
Alasane Ba, Deputy Resident Representative of UNDP in Cameroon represented the program during the launching.
