The National President of CAMASEJ, Viban Jude on Friday paid tribute to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II at the British High Commission in Yaounde.
He was accompanied during the condolence visit by Ndi Eugene Ndi and Elise Kenimbeni, President and Vice President respectively of the Yaounde chapter, as well as Amindeh Blaise Atabong, PRO of Yaounde chapter.
The president of CAMASEJ National did not hesitate to salute the achievements of the government of queen Elisabeth especially in aspects relative to press freedom.
“Her Majesty’s government from afar promoted freedom of expression and freedom of the press in Cameroon, tenets that will continue to hold our democracy in one piece,” Viban said.
The CAMASEJ delegation was received by Nigel Holmes, Deputy British High Commissioner, who said it has been a difficult moment for them but they are consoled by visitors like CAMASEJ.
Viban Jude, symbolically signed the condolence register on behalf of CAMASEJ and extended the association’s heartfelt condolence to the Royal Family and the British people.
Queen Elisabeth II, is should be noted will be buried on Monday September 19, 2022.
Cameroon shall be represented at the funeral by Prime Minister and Head of Government , Chief Dr. Joseph Dion Ngute. The PM will personally represent president Paul Biya.
Queen Elisabeth II, born on 21 April 1926, died on September 8, 2022 in Balmoral Castle at the age of 96.
