The government of Cameroon was among other issues enjoined to;
– Step up the energy offer in the country which is vital in the promotion of digital transformation,
– Institutionalise the use of the domain name “.cm” by all national actors within the framework of promoting ‘made in Cameroon ‘.
– Elaborate an information security policy and reinforce the neccesary judicial frameworks,
– Reinforce collaboration with telecommunications actors and cyber security experts in the country.
The digital stakeholders recommended that the Telecommunications Regulatory Agency (ART) should multiply strategies in evaluating services provided by telecom operators in the country with respect to the perception of customers.
Recommendations were also directed to Camtel notably the need to maintain and ameliorate it’s leadership in the data ecosystem with the objective of setting up a Data Warehouse, as well as a harmonious distribution of the optic fibre across the country.
The GM of Camtel seized the occasion to thank president Paul Biya of Cameroon for supporting Camtel in its vision, indicating that the company will continue with the vision of positioning itself as leader in Sub Saharan Africa.
