Lovers of +237 film festivals will have to thirst the more, following the second consecutive postponement of the Cameroon International Film Festival, CAMIFF to next year.

According to a release signed by CAMIFF Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Agbor Gilbert Ebot, the annual rendezvous has been carried forward due to the CoronaVirus pandemic that has brought the globe to a standstill.

Mindful of the fact that the wellbeing of delegates and audience of the festival are of utmost importance, the suspension and postponement of the 2020 edition is in compliance with government measures to fight corona virus in the country.

The 4th edition of the festival was initially scheduled to run from April 20 – 25, 2020 at Buea Mountain Hotel.

Several actors in the Entertainment industry had been envisage for the festival with special workshop and master classes with specialists in make-up and special effects, cinematography, movie techniques and directing, branding and marketing amongst other things.

Mr Rowan Laxton (British High Commissioner to Cameroon), Brenda Elung (Vice Chair of Cameroon Film Industry, CFI), Valerie Ayanna ( International Top Model), Rekha Rana (Award Winning Actress), Anyi Asonganyi (Make-up artist), Enoh Koree (Make-up artist), Mr Morocco Omari (American Actor), Mr Anurin Nwunembom (actor) amongst several national and international entertainers were to attend the 2020 edition.

Cameroonians’ thirst and hunger for world class movie showcase, fell short last year when the organizers postponed the 2019 edition due to the current armed conflict in the English Speaking Regions of the country which was at its peak.

Cases of infected persons of the CoronaVirus in Cameroon has witness an upsurge of over 800 according to health officials in the country.
