Minister Paul Atanga Nji has handed over gifts from the Head of State to the Cameroon Health Emergency Operation Center.
The consignments were received by Public Health Minister, Dr Manaouda Malachie.
The gifts are made up of the following items:
– 100.000 Surgical masks,
– 20 ResMed brand respirators,
– 700 protective jumpsuits (Gowns),
– 700 Pairs of Medical gloves,
– 700 Protective/Safety goggles,
– 700 Spherical caps.
Besides these equipments, a brand new Medicalised Ambulance was also handed over to the health experts to ease the implementation of the COVID-19 Response Plan in the country.
The gifts of the head of state were solemnly handed over Friday June 12 2020 during a ceremony at the Cameroon Health Emergency Operation Center in Yaounde.
Speaking at the ceremony, Minister Paul Atanga Nji reiterated the Head of State’s desire to assist the health Sector in fighting back COVID-19.
The Minister of Public Health Dr Manaouda Malachie who received the gifts promised to make good use of it in the prevention of the virus and treatment of victims.
So far Cameroon has crossed the bar of 9.000 infected cases of Covid-19, 1.000 in the past four days.
The country has carried out 43.256 COVID-19 tests.
5.557 patients have been declared recovered while 271 have died of the virus.
The distribution of the gifts of medical equipments and an an ambulance to the Cameroon Health Emergency Operation Center in Yaounde comes barely days after the Minister of Territorial Administration handed over 170.000 faces masks to four Ministerial departements in charge of the education sector in Cameroon.
The preventive face masks were still a presidential gesture.
