The Member of Parliament for Bafut-Tubah constituency, Hon. Agho Oliver chaired the ceremony marking Biya’s 38 years in power.
The population of Tubah Sub Division in Mezam Division of the North West region turned out in their numbers for the anniversary celebration.
Holding within the coronavirus pandemic and the crisis in the Anglophone regions, the people’s representative seized the occasion to sensitize the population on the importance of living together in peace, which are values dear to the Head of State, Paul Biya.
“This is a new era for our constituency, we are strongly behind the Head of State as he completes the implementation of decentralization in the country which will open new avenues,” Hon. Agho Oliver said.
To the MP, the days ahead are brighter for the Sub Division especially as regional elections are coming up next December 6, 2020.
Reasons why the people of Tubah should denounce violence especially the activities of the seperatist fighters and rally behind the president as he multiply efforts to resolve the crisis in the country.
“The regional elections will come and complete the special status handed to the two English speaking regions after the major national dialogue” Hon. Agho Oliver added.
Also present at the anniversary celebration was Senator Mrs. Regina Mundi, who in the same vein invited the youths in the bushes to drop down their weapons and join those in cities to complete the development of the Sub Division.
“The power of the pen is better than the power of the gun,” the Senator stressed.
Hon. Agho Oliver it should be noted presided at the celebration as personal representative of the CPDM section president of the area.
“School boycott is one of the factors contributing to the downfall of the Sub Division,” the MP told celebrants.
The mayor for Tubah, Tanjong Martin and other elites of the locality were present and together with the militants and synpathisers of the ruling party, re-echoed their unflinching support behind the Head of State, H E Paul Biya.
