The death of a gendarme officer at Finex – Douala has pushed top management of the company to suspend operations.

It was the only bus that left the agency today.

According to the branch manager, they have received information from heirarchy to suspend all their activities till further notice.

“I am sorry I can’t grant you any interview concerning the incident in our Douala branch agency because we have been asked not to talk to the press for the moment” the manager told News Upfront reporters who visited the agency Thursday July 23, 2020.

Accusing fingers are pointing at a “toilet agent” who had a dispute with the officer over the sum of 100 FCFA being money for using the agency’s toilet.

Some sources say the officer refused to pay for using the toilet while others put the blame on the toilet attendant for failing to reimburse the gendarme officer for lack of coins.

News Upfront can’t Independently comfirm these.

The victim identified as Armel, was on his way to Yaounde from a mission in the South West region.
