Bureau Veritas, global leader specialized in testing, inspection and certification of customer products has certified Cameroon Telecommunications, CAMTEL for Standardization.
CAMTEL’s ISO 9001:2015 certification follows several managerial audits carried out by Bureau Veritas to conform to ISO standards.
This achievement means the telecommunications operator will play a key role to see customer expectations met and demands beyond addressed expectations.
For the start, the certification makes standard the wholesale segment of the corporation, which is Cameroon’s category one public enterprise.
It should be recalled that ISO 9001:2015 specifies requirements for a quality management system of organizations.
The sale of capacities from CAMTEL’s four submarine cables shall hence be made easier as confirmed by the corporation’s Sub Director for Corporate and Commercial Communication, Benedict Ndinwa.
Since 2018, the new management have capitalized on “customer centricity” and “change management” as key goals of this administration.
With proper routes for accountability equally guaranteed, “…the ISO 9001:2015 is based on management procedures such that work is not personalized.
It ensures that procedures are clear-cut…” Benedict told News Upfront.
The certification also comes to strengthen business pathways with the international community, limited administrative bottlenecks, and shutting its doors to bribery and corruption.
The need for organizations to demonstrate their ability to consistently provide products and services that meet customer and applicable statutory with regulatory requirements, enhancement of customer satisfaction are key objectives of ISO.
Headquartered in Geneva, the institution has since 1946 made marks across membership of 164 national standard bodies.
Its standards contribute to Sustainable Development Goals 1, 9, 12 and 14.
By joining this body, CAMTEL is thus recommitted to creating opportunities to better lives of the Cameroonian population and create subsidiaries that would help government curb unemployment.
