Before sending off the trucks loaded with the materials, Minister Paul Atanga Nji informed public opinion that the consignments would be received at the level of regions by Regional Governors.

“Priority would be given to the disabled and the vulnerable population in the distribution of the materials” the Minister said.

The materials were made up of the following;

Hand washing cans, rapid screening test kids plus respiratory devices for hospitals.

All the materials according to the MINAT Boss are made in Cameroon.

This actually falls within the prescriptions of the President of the Republic who once said, we should consume Cameroonian products.

Security in the distribution was assured given that some of the goods are heading to the restive English Regions of the country.

Security vehicles and officials were among the trucks as they left the City Council premises.

Those heading to the Northern Regions were given pride of place to take off first.

The governor of the Centre region, Naseri Paul Bea was to wait for his materials just next door.

Beside providing medical kits and hygienic materials to the 360 council areas in the country, human resources have equally been made available.

Teams from the department of civil protection at the Ministry of Territorial Administration would be dispatched to the various ten (10) regions to assist administrative authorities in the awareness and distribution campaigns.

Talking about awareness, the Minister praised political parties that have joined hands with the state to fight COVID-19.

He also called on others to do same, for the fight is national and need patriotic nationals to defend the interest of the nation.
