Mr. Chombong Joseph, Second Deputy Mayor of Ndop council, in Ngokutunjia Division, Northwest Region, is reported kidnapped alongside three others by alleged Separatist fighters.

According to a Bamenda based news site, Promo Info, the four were abducted last Friday May 15 at about 10am.

The hostages were ransacked at Government School Bamali while in a funeral convoy from the mortuary heading for the burial a deceased.

News Upfront gathered that Mr. Chombong, Bertine, Fabrice and Mazu were taken to an unknown destination yet until the time of this report.

The Deputy Mayor was heading to burry his mother who passed away last week, while the other two excluding Bertine (photographer) are close family members.

Bamali village has been a fighting zone since the start of Anglophone crisis in 2016: It was militarised before the February 9 municipal and legislative elections, but many inhabitants of this locality say their lives are in danger as safety is far fetched.

For 3 years and counting, those fighting for the restoration of the Southern Cameroon statehood also called ‘Ambazonia’, as well the government military forces have reportedly caused atrocities, afflicting pain on the masses of the two English speaking regions of Cameroon.
