Bernard Ludovic Onana: At the radio, you were the Master of Animation;
In School, you were the Discipline Master with virtue:
When it came to events, you were a Master of Ceremony with a difference,
At home, you Mastered family affair with diligence…
It will take a while for your various families to swallow the bitter pill of June 15, 2020. The day the cold hands of death visited your personality.
The shock of your departure is still very visible on the faces of your wife and children, who had no time to say goodbye as they had loved to.
Tuesday, June 16 in your native village, via Mbankomo Sub Division of the Mefou and Afamba Division in the Center Region, I saw a brave wife and intelligently strong children, some of whom are still ignorant of the whole scenario.
“Dady, go and rest in peace, be happy because you moulded us to be stronger, you left us your children and our mum, your loving wife, but we promise to take good care of what you left behind.” These were the words of your eldest and brave son by your graveside.
Your wife, Josiane spoke from her heart when she bid farewell to you.
“…My love, go, I promise to take good care of your children and take them to the level that you had wanted them to reach” she told the husband minutes before health experts laid him to rest.
The arrival of the health experts in your native village with your body was too much for your family head to bear.
He could not stand it, but God saw him through.
Master Ludo, your communication family was present but could not believe that the exit from this world was real.
Gone too soon!!!
No time to hear about your illness;
No time to digest the news of your death;
No time to prepare a befitting burial for you;
Everything was like a twinkle of the eye.
But it is not over yet.
Benjamin Fouda Effa, your former boss, who represented your communication family promised that what you deserve would be given to you at the appropriate moment.
To him and to the entire communication family, your were a role model, a symbol of unity, the perfect example of humility, honesty and hardwork.
Your hard work was felt on multiple fronts.
Close to two (2) decades at Radio Tiemeni Siantou, your colleagues and former colleagues of the radio have learnt a lot from your expertise and virtues.
Gone too soon!!!
Your education family will miss you a lot.
You left them at a time when they needed you most, a time when your students are preparing for their official examinations under a difficult context of Covid-19.
You were their discipline master, and I know the lessons you tought them so far, will see them through.
As a Master Of Ceremony, those you served with professionalism throughout your career did not have the opportunity to say good bye accordingly.
But your footprints would forever remain marked in their memories.
Gone too soon!!!
On a personal note, I think I still need to recollect myself, see if it’s not a dream before I know the way forward.
Farewell Master Ludo
