The 18th edition of the Cameroon International Cycling Tour ended in Yaounde Sunday June 12, 2022 with Rwandan cyclist, Moise Mushiga, from Pro Touch team taking home the yellow jersey.
The team was equally classified as the best team of the tour, and Cameroon’s SNH Velo Club was third on the general classification table.
The closing ceremony at Club CAMTEL in Yaounde was presided at by Sports and Physical Education Minister, Prof. Narcise Mouelle Kombi, in the presence of CAMTEL’s General Manager, Judith Yah Sunday Epse Achidi.
The incumbent telecom company made a remarkable comeback at this year’s edition of the competition and honoured Cameroon’s best cyclist with a financial package of FCFA 500.000.
CAMTEL’s presence was actually felt throughout the ten (10) days of the competition.
Thanks to it’s optic fibre services, the national station in Cameroon was able to broadcast the tour.
Given that the weather was not the best during the competition, CAMTEL did all to provide officials of the tour as well as media practitioners with protective materials like mantles, in view of securing their equipments.
The population around the itinerary of the tour were not left out. The telecom operator at every point and for free, distributed gadgets like umbrellas, t-shirts, caps, mantles, just to name but these.
The tour was also an occasion to present the services of BLUE to the public, who happily grabbed their BLUE Sim Cards.
The Cameroon Cycling Federation did not hesitate to hail the services rendered by CAMTEL for the success of the competition.
