Below is a statement from the Member of Parliamentarian for Donga Mantung East Special Constituency, Honorable Adamu Lambe Edward

(He was addressing his people following the recent happenings in Nwa)

Good evening my brothers and sisters.

We need to call for peace and what we have insisted on is that everyone currently living in our sub division be him native or Fulani be disarmed first.

We have to sit down and tell each other what we think is wrong with each another.

We are looking forward to organise a join meeting of all the sons and daughters of Nwa, both natives and fulanies and look at each other eye to eye.

The problems have been on both sides my brothers.

Last week a Fulani was killed and cut into parts around Yang. 4 days ago, it was an old mother of Mfe killed.

Death is painful on both sides.
For 2 days going on, Ntong and the environs has been a theatre ground of slaughtering old people of about 80 years and above.

Specific houses burnt. The Fulanies came in from both Banyo and from Nigeria as of the reports we get from there.

My brothers and sisters, is this what we deserve? I have read many of our write ups and at times I doubt what we are preparing .

The majority of us say what ever comes into our mouths . We cannot construct by preaching hatred. Recall what was done to some fulanies at the start of crises in Ntong .

The way forward, we have both gone wrong and need to sit on a common table and spell out how this matter MUST END.

We stay far away and express hate speeches and portion blames to A and B as if you could better.

How many of us have been home since 2016 even just to see for yourself what really the situation is?.

You stay away and spit fire that cannot help calm the situation.

I therefore call on us all to forgive each other and we move towards peace.
We have proposed that a detachment of military be sent to Yamba North to stop whoever from coming in and going out with bad intentions.

The powers that be has bought that option and is looking forward to puting that into action.

The SDO was ready for all of us to move to Ntong and evaluate the situation, but how could we when all the roads were dug with deep trenches, ridges destroyed and trees cut to block cars from moving.

Some of us did praise the Amba boys for this but here we are today. The military in Nwa could not move to the site due to some of these challenges.

So who are we fighting now? The Amba boys or the Fulanies.? Where are we?

In short, we are fighting ourselves. Let’s go on killing ourselves and keep complaining.

Nwa has lost many of its children within a few days be it native or fulani.

Can we try to reflect on our actions again.

My humble opinion.
