The Minister of Territorial Administration, Paul Atanga Nji, has called on the population of the Northern regions of Cameroon not to heed to directives from promoters of the movement dub “10 Million Northerners”.

The Minister was speaking during a visit to the Far North region.

The call from the MinAT boss comes after he banned the movement on November 18, 2020 for reasons that it has not been legalised and is a threat to the peace and unity in Cameroon.

Speaking to the population/youths of the Far North region, Minister Paul Atanga Nji invited them to remain loyal to President Paul Biya who is more concerned with their growth and development.

The movement dub “10 Million Northerners” recently vowed to carry on with their activities that they are not an association to require a legalization.

The population were however urged to stay away from the movement “10 Million Northerners” for it is a baseless diversion, source of conflict and against the laws of the Republic.

Minister Paul Atanga Nji did not only stop at that. During the visit to the Northern regions, he held important security meetings with governors, traditional rulers, and bike riders.

With the commercial motorbike riders, the Minister encouraged them to identify themselves with their respective council areas.

Focus of the meeting with the governors and traditional rulers was to map out strategic security measures within the region ahead of the December 6, 2020 Regional Council Elections.

Minister Paul Atanga Nji reminded the governors that President Paul Biya has instructed that the elections must hold in all the Sub Divisions of the country.

The traditional rulers who constitute part of the electoral college, equally have a role in ensuring the smooth organisation of the polls.

It should be noted that the population of the Northern regions of Cameroon after examining the largess of the President of the Republic towards them resolved to throw their support behind him.

They equally prayed for good health, long life and wisdom as he leads Cameroon towards emergence by 2035.
