Nigeria’s charismatic televangelist Temitope Balogun Joshua, popularly called Prophet TB Joshua has thrown the blame of the widespread of Covid-19 on world leaders and scientists.

The virus which has caused the lives of about 74,000 people and 1,347,000 confirmed cases worldwide (by morning of April 7) has haulted several activities causing governments to declare indefinite partial or total lockdown – leading to fear and panic in many.

During a special live studio broadcast on EmmanuelTv on Sunday April 5, celebrated by Christians as Palm Sunday, he questioned why world leaders and scientists are creating fear and panic in many by resounding the geometrical increasing death toll.

TB Joshua said “you know I’m not a politician i just have to put it the way the spirit says it, because i received this message days ago from the Holy spirit. World leaders and scientists know what they are doing. That’s why they keep promoting fear and panic. There’s panic, There’s fear everywhere. They know what they have done. whom do you think are promoting this fear? World leaders.”

“All these deaths here, there. Before CoronaVirus there were number of deaths, but they never mentioned number of deaths to us before CoronaVirus. But its now we begin to count the number of deaths. Instead of counting the number of lives. They know the gravity of the situation. They know.”

The charismatic Preacher went further to state what he believes is the cause of pandemic. “The whole thing has to do with error in advanced technology. This is the only way i can put it because now I’m not a scientist. I repeat again the whole thing has to do with error, mistake in advance technology. Now innocent people are dying especially the elderly.”

Though not citing any world leader, scientists or particular world power, he avowed that if they (world leaders) say it should end now, it will.

Turning towards the three other members on set, he declared “Nothing is worth the blood of innocent people. There’s no acceptable excuse for doing this” and so urged the world leaders to use this as an opportunity to look into the different “trouble spots” in the world such as Syria, So that the displaced people can return to their countries.

Many of followers showed sigh of relief last month when he prophesied that the coronavirus would end by March 27. However, he was largely criticised when March 27 passed by but the pandemic kept on aggravating.
