US President, Joe Biden has pledged to assist Africa limit the conflicts that are taking away lives across the continent.
He was talking Saturday February 6, 2021, during a congratulatory message to Africa on the occasion of the 34th Summit of the African Union, AU that kicked off in Addis Ababa last Saturday.
He acknowledged that ending conflicts in Africa, a continent in which the United States of America so much believe in is not an easy task, reason for the US support.
He advised African countries to practice a coherent diplomacy, which is an easy method to promote peace.
“The United States stand ready now to be your partner in solidarity, support and mutual respect. We believe in the Nations of Africa, in their spirit of entrepreneurship and innovation”, Joe Biden said.
The President went ahead to affirm the importance of Africa in the promotion of world solidarity, peace, unity, health and solidarity.
International organisations like the African Union, African CDC, among others are very crucial in developing the world.
To him, this is so because the world are inter-connected, and their destinies inter-mingled.
He said international associations are the only means through which solidary, peace, security and the protection of human lives around the world can be archived.
“My administration is committing to rebuilding our partnership around the world and reengaging dialogue with international institutions like the African Union. We must all work together to share our visions for a better future”, indicated the US President Joe Biden.
The president again stressed on the need to enhance world democracy and uphold human right values.
This should be done irrespective of religious and cultural differences, social status, ethical policies and peoples’ origins, he continued.
There is a need to build a future that “promotes human rights of all people, women and girls, LGBTQ individuals, people with disabilities, and people of every ethnic background and religious heritage”, Joe Biden said and equally reminded that it is not attainable without challenges.
Also, the President in his message to Africa, stressed on the need to fight for human health across the globe.
Much should be invested in the health domain in order to prevent future diseases which are unfriendly to humanity.
“…invest more in global health, defeating COVID-19, and working to prevent, detect and respond to the future health crisis” Joe Biden indicated.
To him, this will only be possible with the contribution of the African CDC and other institutions at the service of the global health security.
It is also essential to manage world’s climate and the environment, particularly in developing countries.
Climate change he said is already posing a threat to human safety.
President Biden thus enjoined developing countries to reduce these climatic impacts that are causing sufferings.
The US president finally indicated that he will be taking part in the next African summit, where he and other heads of states can together vote policies to make Africa a better place for everyone.
