The Senior Divisional Officer for Mfoundi, Jean Claude Tsila died Wednesday August 12, 2020 from a protracted illness.
The senior administrator is said to have died at the Yaounde General Hospital.
Jean Claude Tsila has been absent from public events for a while now and it was reported he suffered from a series of heart related attacks as a result of his poor health condition.
News about an alleged medical evacuation of the SDO had spread recently on social media.

Jean Claude Tsila who was due retirement over 10 years ago, died few days to the end of his prolonged active service date, August 31st 2020.
The senior administrator was appointed to take over from Joseph Beti Assomo as SDO of Mfoundi Division by a presidential decree of 15 June 2010.
His 10 years at the helm of the Division have been very instrumental and challenging in maintaining public order.
Jean Claude Tsila succeeded to push back commercial motobike riders from the heart of the town to the quarters.
He had tried in vain to send off road side vendors from the central post office roundabout.
In one of his moves to maintain public order in the division between council agents and road side vendors, he suspended and later reorganised municipal police agents (Awara) who were accused of excesses in the exercise of their duties.
With the present situation in the country caused by coronavirus, Jean Claude Tsila has been very active.
He ordered the arrest and detention of over 100 street prostitutes alleged to have visited some suspected persons held up in an isolation centre in Yaounde.
One of his last decisions taken was on May 12, when he announced severe controls of the COVID-19 measures put in place by the government.
